2. Cancún, Mexico – The Classic Beach Escape
Best for: Couples, solo travelers, and groups of friends
Cancún is the ultimate tropical paradise, offering white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a vibrant nightlife scene. Whether you’re lounging by the beach with a cocktail in hand, exploring the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, or snorkeling in the Great Mesoamerican Reef, there’s no shortage of things to do. Many all-inclusive resorts cater to both families and adults-only travelers, making it easy to find the perfect stay for your needs. If you’re looking for a mix of relaxation and adventure, take a boat trip to Isla Mujeres or go swimming in one of the region’s breathtaking cenotes. With warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine, Cancún is an ideal spring break destination.

3. San Diego, California – The Laid-Back Coastal Getaway
Best for: Families, nature lovers, and foodies
San Diego offers the best of both worlds—beautiful beaches and an abundance of family-friendly activities. Take the kids to the San Diego Zoo, LEGOLAND California, or SeaWorld, or spend the day exploring Balboa Park’s museums and gardens. For a more relaxing experience, soak up the sun on Coronado Beach or go tide-pooling at La Jolla Cove. If you’re a foodie, you’ll love the diverse cuisine, from fresh seafood to some of the best Mexican food in the U.S. And for those who love history, the USS Midway Museum offers an interactive experience aboard an aircraft carrier. Whether you’re craving relaxation or adventure, San Diego has it all.
Pro Tip: Rent bikes and ride along the Mission Beach boardwalk for stunning coastal views.

4. Asheville, North Carolina – A Mountain Escape
Best for: Couples, outdoor enthusiasts, and art lovers
If you’re looking for a break from the usual beach scene, Asheville is a hidden gem in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This charming town is packed with scenic hiking trails, breathtaking waterfalls, and craft breweries. Tour the stunning Biltmore Estate, explore the vibrant arts district, or take a scenic drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Springtime in Asheville is particularly beautiful, as wildflowers bloom along the trails, and the fresh mountain air provides the perfect escape from busy city life. The town’s local music scene and farm-to-table restaurants make it an excellent choice for food and culture lovers, too. Asheville is a peaceful yet vibrant spring break destination.
Pro Tip: Visit early in the spring to catch the blooming wildflowers and enjoy mild weather before summer crowds arrive.
